Creative Writing Workshop with Catherine O'Flynn We all have our own personal inventory of the city's oblique charms - the bench overlooking the dual carriageway, the island in the middle of the pond, the pedestrian walkway to nowhere, the hidden pigeon enclave. Join Catherine O'Flynn in sharing and documenting your own idiosyncratic selection of Birmingham's delights. Participants will explore ways of conveying the magic of place in writing whilst looking out for common themes and unexpected wonders.

THE HOUSE THAT BRUM BUILT - 24th and 25th September 2026
A unique event that celebrates the third International Day of Birmingham giving the citizens of Brum unprecedented access to the iconic landmark that is the Council House.
There are ten rooms to discover, each with its own identity and programme. Visitors can explore the house with a keepsake Brummie Passport, collecting stamps as they go, discovering art, music, food, film, history, comedy, spoken word and more as they are entertained by Birmingham legends.
